About Me
My name is Alexis Kent and I am currently a junior at Flowery Branch High School. This school year, I had the opportunity of having two periods of Honors Mentorship. Throughout this school year, I have interned at Back In the Game Physical Therapy. My mentors are Brendon Blake and Melissa Housworth. Each day that I walk into the clinic, I don't know what I am going to do until a patient walks through the door. Not a single day is the same as the day before and that's the beauty of the clinic. Each patient is different and each patient has different exercises, so depending on which patients we see, that determines what I am going to do. Throughout the year at BIG, I have learned how to properly pull dry needles, hook up electrical stim to an injury and I have learned tons of exercises to help better the patients. My mentorship has helped me decide on my future occupation. I now know that I want to become a Physical Therapist one day. I hope to eventually own my own practice so that I am able to help people recover just like Melissa and Brendon do everyday. My favorite part about being at work everyday is being able to see the smile on a patient's face after all the hard work and sometimes even tears that they have put into PT.
